Sagra del Vermentino in Monti: the taste and the tradition

As a tradition imposes since the Fifties, it’s held on the first Sunday of August. And the edition won’t be an exception: August 3rd will be the day of Sagra del Vermentino in Monti.

The festival

The real king of the festival is just it: the Vermentino di Sardegna, a white wine, straw-yellow, with a delicate and pleasant aroma, and a fresh, dry flavor. The festival will be the occasion to taste the best-quality wines. And to analyze some of the contents related to wine, from the production methods to the distribution.

Not only Vermentino. During the festival there will be stands where you can find food and wine specialties from Sardinia and products made by local artisans. A way to discover the traditions of the zone and to buy originals gits.

How to reach

Monti can be easily reached from Olbia:

·         Take the state road 597 to Stazione di Monti

·         Once you arrive at Stazione di Monti, take the provincial road 147 and follow the road signs to comune di Monti

The trip by car lasts a hour and a half, so it’s better to embark the car on a ferry to Olbia.
