In Sardinia with the family: here’s where to find the best beaches for children

Beautiful to visit with the whole family: Sardinia is an ideal destination for a holiday with the little ones. Land of sun and sea. And below you can find some of the best beaches for children on the whole island.

Our tips

Chia and Sa Colonia

In southern Sardinia. The town of Chia offers four kilometers of coast where seven beaches open. Of these the most suitable for children is the beach of Sa Colonia: a long beach, the seabed is low, the water is turquoise, and it is equipped with many services, including a large parking nearby. There are also several accommodation facilities.

Poetto

One of the most beautiful beaches in Cagliari and certainly the most loved by the people of Cagliari. Seven kilometers of sandy coast and shallow water. It is easily accessible from the center of Cagliari, both with its own vehicle and with the bus service. There are several bathing establishments equipped with all the services you could wish for on the beach. Also excellent for practicing various water sports.

Villasimius

Always in Southern Sardinia. Villasimius is a tourist resort renowned for its beaches. Among these, Simius beach, very close to the town, sandy, is ideal for long walks and is equipped with all comforts.

Costa Rei

At a short distance from Villasimius. Also in this place there are numerous stretches of sandy coast where children can play in tranquillity. And, being a famous tourist resort, it is equipped with all the services you could wish for.

Gulf of Orosei

A paradisiacal crescent where several beaches open. The beaches of the Gulf of Orosei suitable for children are located further north, easily accessible by car. Like Ginepro cove, a white sandy beach with a shallow seabed and a pine forest where you can find refreshment during the hottest hours of the day.

La Pelosa

Considered (rightly) one of the most beautiful beaches in Stintino, La Pelosa offers soft white sand and a turquoise colored sea, obviously with shallow water. The center of Stintino is very close, so there is no shortage of services.

The Green Flag beaches 2020

It’s not just our advice. Every year, the Green Flag recognition is assigned, by a group of expert pediatricians, to the beaches of Italy most suitable for children: these are sandy beaches, with low water, clean, easy to reach and equipped with all the services that could be desired. And Sardinia, year after year, is present in this list.

Here is the list of the 2020 Green Flag beaches in Sardinia:
