Discover the charming history of Olbia

Sardinia in spring always offers many surprises and opportunities to plan a holiday. Especially if you want a journey dedicated to history and culture. In fact, on May 5th and 6th, will take place the edition of Monumenti aperti (literally, “open monuments”) in Olbia.

Monuments…

Discovering the history and culture of Olbia. But in a very special way. In fact, one of the greatest peculiarities of Monumenti aperti is this: in the days of the event, you will have the opportunity to visit the monuments that, usually, are closed to the public. To lead you through this journey will be expert guides who will narrate art, anecdotes and curiosities.

Moreover, during the weekend of the event, several info points will be set up, places where you can get all the information you need to enjoy these two days.

…and not only

  • First of all, you will have noticed that there are so many things to see in Olbia: the old centre, the nuragic tomb of Su Monte de s’Ape and the castle of Pedres will complete your holiday.
  • And in spring you could enjoy the sea for the very first time of the season, finding the best conditions to discover the most beautiful beaches in Olbia, such as Pittulongu and Porto Istana.

How to get

You just need to book a ferry to Sardinia arriving in Olbia. These ferries depart from some of the main inland ports, such as Genoa, Piombino, Livorno and Civitavecchia: all there cities are easy to reach by car, train and plane.
