A short but pleasant vacation between history and nature. To discover the artistic and architectural beauties of this destination, famous especially for its beaches. On May 28 and 29, 2016, the new edition of Monumenti aperti (“open monuments”) will take place in Tortolì-Arbatax.
The Ogliastra coast is one of the most beautiful parts of Sardinia. Tortolì and Arbatax (the port of Tortolì) rise on this wonderful coastline. Arbatax, in particular, is famous for its many beautiful beaches. But not only for this.
Because the things to see in Tortolì are really several. Such as Area archeologica attrezzata S’Ortali ‘e su Monti (an archaeological site), San Miguel Tower (the symbol of the town), the pond, the churches of Sant’Andrea Apostolo, Sant’Anna and Sant’Antonio Abate. And these are only some of the places that you can visit during Monumenti aperti 2016.
During the two days of the event, at the info point you can find all the information you may need to enjoy the town: monuments, opening hours, guided tours.
How to get there
Arbatax is one of the main tourist ports on the east coast of Sardinia. To get from Arbatax to Tortolì, take viale Arbatax and then via monsignor Virgilio. The journey by car takes just seven minutes. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the port of Arbatax to Tortolì.
