Excursion to Asinara: 3 tips to see an unforgettable place

You are spending a holiday along the north coast of Sardinia. And, rightly, you want to treat yourself to a day visiting that small, authentic naturalistic jewel that rises from the sea not far from the coast. In other words, here are the three essential things to know to better organize your excursion to Asinara.

1. How to get there

Getting to Asinara (which falls within the municipality of Porto Torres) is very simple: all you have to do is reach the ports of two of the main tourist destinations of this part of Sardinia, Stintino and Porto Torres. At this point, you have two possibilities:

  • If you want to manage the excursion independently, in the ports you will find information kiosks that will provide you with all the necessary information to reach the Asinara by boat. Before leaving, contact the Asinara National Park on the site org to get in touch with a tour guide.
  • Alternatively, always from these two ports, every day, several boat trips with tour of the island depart, stop and walk along one or more paths.

2. What to see and what to do

The Asinara is about thirty kilometers long. Although, as an island, it could be considered relatively small, things to see and do, in reality, are so many: between beaches, hiking, diving and the inevitable white donkey, you will live a day in contact with nature.

3. The most beautiful beaches

The Asinara beaches deserve special mention. Because, simply said, they are wonderful: places like Cala d’Arena, Cala Sant’Andrea and Cala Sabina will leave you speechless. By organizing the excursion, make sure that at least a couple of them are included in the itinerary. Now you know all the information you need to start organizing your Asinara excursion. All except one. Because, in fact, you still have to book your ferry trip to Sardinia with destination Porto Torres: your next vacation awaits you.
