In Cortes apertas (the courtyards of the historic houses) you’ll discover its typical products and its ancient professions. While the surrounding territory has valleys, rugged slopes and ancient nuraghis. In other words, in Desulo there’s everything to satisfy every visitor. And the right occasion to discover this place is Autunno in Barbagia 2015, on 30th, 31st October and 1st November.

The real characteristic element of Desulo’s nature is the contrast. On one side there are green valleys full of holm oaks, yews, oaks, maples, walnut trees and cherry trees. On the other there are the rugged slopes of Gennargentu (as the Bruncu Spina, one of the places to ski in Sardinia). A place like this is the realm of shepherds and legends.

In fact the shepherds built the numerous mountain shelters, the characteristic pinnettas. And, talkin about the nuragic civilization, the tomb of the giants of Sa Sedda de Sena is one of the most important in Sardinia.

Talking about Desulo, the city consists in the three historic zones of Asuai, Ovolaccio and Issiria: all of three are characterized by the presence of narrow lanes and, above all, of the houses made of schist with blue windows and doors. A place that safeguards its traditional red coarse dresses finely embroidered: they are usually worn in occasion of the most important fests.
