Orani: Autunno in Barbagia between wood, iron and talc

The 2015 edition of Autunno in Barbagia let the visitors discover Orani, a hamlet with very ancient origins and experienced artisans.

Orani
Archeologists furnished proof about the existence of villages in these fertile and rich territories since the prehistoric era. The steatite was the main mineral that was extracted and it was used to create jewels and votive statues. Orani became over time one of the main European sites of extraction of talc. Finally, thanks to the its hill and mountainous conformation, it’s possible to walk through long wooden paths and admire wonderful panoramas and rural churches.

How to reach
Reaching Orani and admiring the expert artisans of iron and wood during Autunno in Barbagia 2015 is really simple. Travelling by car, starting from Nuoro you have to take the state road 131dcn and then take the state road 128 until Orani.

To reach Sardinia, the two main tourist ports, suggested to reach Nuoro, are the Arbatax and Olbia.
